About the project Sector: Mobile Audience: Social app users Lead designer: Darya Samarskaya Discipline: Mobile App Development, UX The mission of the Wi-Now app is to allow users to meet people nearby, expand their social network, explore their city with new friends and just be more spontaneous. Using their phone, users can connect to any Wi-Fi network and look for people nearby with similar interests. One of the unique features of the application is to send urgent notifications to people in the same network as you. User research Before the development stage, the Ein-des-ein team conducted an in-depth research. User Goals Meet new people, learn something new from them, discover new places and share experiences. Solution After analyzing the issues, we concluded that the app had to offer the following features: 1. Search and automatically connect to the nearest wi-fi network. 2. Chat within the app. 3. Receive requests for conversation and block users. App features: • Connecting with people that share your interests • Sharing photos with other network participants • Chatting with anyone that interests you • Keeping track of all the conversations in the chat section • Sending ‘Alert’ signal to all network participants Result In the end, the app possessed all the necessary attributes to achieve user goals. The app is now in a beta testing stage and is ready to be launched internationally.
